Once again, Graycon I.T. – a Ricoh Canada owned company - has emerged from Wild Rose Country as a star.

On Feb. 20, the 2019 edition of Alberta’s Top 75 Employers was released. For the third straight year (since Graycon was acquired by Ricoh Canada) - and for the fourth time overall - Graycon I.T. was named in this prestigious list of companies that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

“We are very proud of the work environment that we’ve created at Graycon, which is a part of Ricoh Canada” says Roger Harripersad, Vice President of People & Culture at Graycon I.T. “Our employees are special people, this is a special place, and we’re pleased to be recognized, once again, as an employer of choice.”

Evaluations are conducted by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using criteria such as health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; community involvement; training and skills development; work atmosphere; and performance management.

The 2019 Alberta’s Top 75 Employers judging committee made note of several of Graycon’s work environment highlights, including:

  • Alternative work options that include flexible hours, shortened weeks and telecommuting
  • Individual performance reviews every 12 months
  • Leadership training and mentoring
  • Charitable involvement, including paid time off for employees to volunteer
  • Referral bonuses of up to $4,000 for successful hires
  • Employee performance rewards that include home-cleaning services, golf weekends, and dinner out with babysitting included

“From mental health to physical fitness and nutrition, employers across the province are doubling down on efforts to improve overall levels of employee wellness inside their organizations,” says Richard Yerema, managing editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “The leading employers now see these programs as ‘must-have’ initiatives and no longer as ‘nice-to-have’ programs for staff.”

Notes Kristina Leung, senior editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project: “As part of their health benefits plan, Graycon employees receive a health spending account to cover additional health care costs, as well as a fitness club subsidy.”

The Alberta’s Top 75 Employers competition compares multiple employers in specific sectors to determine which company offers the most progressive settings and opportunities.

“Whether it’s career development opportunities, our socially driven workplace culture, a strong emphasis on work-life balance, or our competitive employer-paid benefits package, we go the extra mile to set our employees up for success,” says Roger.

This year’s winners were announced in a special magazine that was distributed on Feb. 20 with the Calgary Herald and the Edmonton Journal.
